Consistent filter quality

This was my third time buying the Water Filter Replacement Kits, and as usual, everything was great. Ordered the Sediment and Carbon Block Filters. They always fit my GX600 RO System perfectly, and the water quality stays consistent. My last order took 4 days to reach Ohio, this one was similar. It's why I keep coming back, can rely on them for my setup. Good to know what to expect.

GX1000 is fantastic

I got the GX1000 Reverse Osmosis System last week and it is SO good! Shipping was faster than I thought, took about 3 days to get to me in California. Set up wasn't too bad, just followed the instructions. The water quality is noticeably better. My plants are already looking happier. I'm telling all my friends who do hydroponics about this system. Definitely shopping here again!

Thinking of adding a UV Sterilizer to my Growonix setup for my hydroponic system. Anyone have experience with their UV units? Are they reliable?

P PlantGuru 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
I've been running their UV sterilizer on my K-Series system for about 6 months now. No issues at all, keeps the water crystal clear and prevents algae. Just remember to change the bulb periodically.

P PlantGuru 2 weeks ago
Usually annually, but some go longer. Depends on usage hours. Growonix sells replacement bulbs.
8
H HydroHead 2 weeks ago
That's exactly what I wanted to hear! Good to know it's effective. How often do you change the bulb?
4
G GreenThumb 2 weeks ago
I use a different brand but have heard good things about Growonix UVs. They're generally pretty solid. Just make sure it's sized correctly for your flow rate.

H HydroHead 2 weeks ago
Good point on sizing, I'll double-check my flow restrictor specs.

Following this. Also considering one for my setup.

My Growonix GX200 system just started making a weird humming noise. It's only a few months old. Anyone had issues with booster pump noise or anything similar?

M MeenaK 3 weeks ago
Mine was making noise and it turned out to be a loose bracket for the pump. A quick tighten fixed it. Might be worth a look.
1
R RaviV 3 weeks ago
Yeah, vibration can cause a lot of unexpected noise. Simple fix hopefully.
1
A ArjunS 3 weeks ago
Thanks, I'll check the mounting. Good tip.

P PrakashR 3 weeks ago
Could be the booster pump if you have one. Sometimes air bubbles get trapped or it just needs to settle in. Check all your connections for leaks too.
9
A ArjunS 3 weeks ago
I do have the BP-6010. I'll check the connections. It wasn't doing this before.
3
S SagarM 3 weeks ago
Mine made a slight hum, but nothing too loud. If it's new, maybe it's still breaking in?

Finally switched my RO system to a Growonix GX600 from an old residential unit. The water quality is noticeably better, but installation was a bit fiddly with all the tubing.

P PriyaM 1 month ago
Glad to hear it! I'm thinking of upgrading too. Did you get the BP-1530 booster pump with it or was your pressure good enough?
5
A AnkitS 1 month ago
Definitely get the pump if your house pressure isn't consistently high. It makes a huge difference in flow rate.
5
R RajeshK 1 month ago
My pressure was decent, didn't need the booster. But I saw some reviews saying it helps a lot for lower pressure homes.
5
D Deepak87 1 month ago
Yeah, those connections can be a pain. I almost flooded my utility room once! Did you follow their tech support guide or a YouTube video?
8
N NehaG 1 month ago
I usually just call their support if I get stuck. They're pretty good.
8
R RajeshK 1 month ago
Mostly the guide, but a couple of YouTube videos helped clarify the float valve setup.

My TDS meter from Growonix arrived today, but it seems to be reading a bit high compared to my old one. Is it normal for new meters to need calibration or something?

R RohitD 3 weeks ago
Sometimes they need a quick calibration solution check. Did yours come with a small packet for that? Or maybe your old one was off?
8
N NehaG 3 weeks ago
It came with a solution, I'll try that. My old one was really old, so maybe you're right.
7
M ManojS 3 weeks ago
Yeah, usually, they're pre-calibrated but it's good practice to check, especially if readings are weird.
6
S SureshP 3 weeks ago
I had a similar issue, turns out my old meter was just completely busted. The new Growonix one was accurate. What's your tap water TDS reading?
9
J JyotiL 3 weeks ago
That's a pretty big difference. Definitely calibrate the new one first.
5
N NehaG 3 weeks ago
Around 350-400 on the new one, my old one showed closer to 300. It's a big jump.

Ordered a bunch of fittings and tubing from Growonix, got free shipping. Delivery was surprisingly fast, arrived in 3 days. Impressed with that for standard shipping.

K KavitaR 2 weeks ago
Free shipping is always a win. Did you have to hit a minimum order value for that?
5
D Deepak87 2 weeks ago
I think it's automatic for orders above Rs. 5000 or something like that. Not sure if it's always active.
8
G GauravJ 2 weeks ago
Yeah, I think it's usually over a certain amount. I just loaded up on spares.
6
S ShaliniD 2 weeks ago
Nice! My last order for a membrane flush kit also came super quick. Their shipping seems to have improved lately.
5
A AkashP 2 weeks ago
Depends on the warehouse location I guess. Mine took 5 days.
1
G GauravJ 2 weeks ago
Yeah, I was expecting a week at least. Good to know they're efficient.

My first order discount coupon didn't seem to work at checkout. Anyone else had issues with promo codes on Growonix.com?

V VarunG 2 weeks ago
Sometimes they're case-sensitive, or there's a minimum purchase amount you need to hit. Did you check the terms?
11
P PriyaS 1 week ago
Yeah, I checked. And it was my first order. Maybe I copied it wrong.
7
S SmitaJ 1 week ago
I'd try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. Sometimes that helps with coupon glitches.

A ArmyVet 1 week ago
I had a similar problem with a military discount code. Ended up just calling their customer service, and they applied it manually for me. Might be worth a shot.
9
N NikhilS 1 week ago
Yeah, their support is usually pretty responsive for stuff like that.

P PriyaS 1 week ago
Oh, that's a good idea. I'll give them a call if it still doesn't work.

My Growonix filters need changing, looking at the replacement kits. Anyone know if the KDF Carbon Filters are worth the extra cost over just standard carbon blocks?

V VikramP 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Definitely worth it, especially if you have chlorinated water or issues with heavy metals. They last longer and do a better job filtering. I use them in my GX400.
9
F FarmerJoe 1 month ago
Agreed. For hydroponics, cleaner water means less issues down the line with nutrient uptake.
1
S Sunita22 1 month ago
Good to know! My tap water isn't great. Thinking of trying them.

R RahulG 1 month ago
I just stick with the standard carbon blocks, changing them more frequently. Haven't noticed a huge difference myself, but my water isn't super hard.
5
S Sunita22 1 month ago
Makes sense if your source water is already pretty clean.
1
P PoojaR 1 month ago
It really depends on your input water quality. Some people don't need the extra filtration.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a GX400 system. Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to like, California? Need it kinda soon for a project.

J James G. 3 months ago
Mine took about a week to get to San Diego, i think it depends on what you order and where you are though.
2
P Phil Doyle 3 months ago
Yeah, I'm in NorCal and my last filter order got here in 4-5 business days. Pretty standard ground shipping speeds usually.
